Expressions

Inspired by wild and unharnessed coastlines, especially that of my native Wales, I paint abstracted landscapes that express my connection to places, times and experiences. I strive to create an ambiguity within my paintings that connects the viewer to their own experience of wild and ethereal landscapes.

Working in oil and acrylic media, from plein air sketches and found objects, my process centres around exploration of colour, texture and mark making, to create layers of history within each painting. As I work, the emerging image links to memory and experience, informing the developing composition and completed work.

This collection has really connected with people, and all the pieces have been sold.
